Jett’s Wild Flight: THE BOARDWALK
By: Jett Lillie, 9/1/22
When we started to walk on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk, the nation’s longest boardwalk, everything was just beginning to open up.

We shopped and bought a sandcastle kit and some shovels. My mom and dad bought beach chairs for the beach. After that, we ate lunch at a bar & grill restaurant (so many flies!).

Then we started going towards the beach and had to walk on HOT SAND! We brought our boogie boards and we body surfed with them on big waves. Here's a video of me riding one of the waves in:
My sister found shells the size of my hand! We all had a blast and I think we can all agree it was the BEST BAECH DAY EVER!
Jaycie’s Bunny Hoppin’ News: BEACH DAY
By: Jaycie Lillie, 9/1/22
We hit the road and headed toward the Seaside Heights Boardwalk. I totally imagined something different. It was a boardwalk with shops and carnival games with the beach close by. [I thought the boardwalk would be right on the beach with a few little shops.] Anyway, we shopped! I got a Mango smoothie and cute beach pants. Jett got sand stuff to make sandcastles and a bucket. Momma and Daddy bought 2 beach chairs. We then left to go to Island Beach State Park. The state park ranger didn’t charge us and there was a restaurant right next to the beach that we ate at. We ate lunch and then hit the beach! Just like we hit the road! Metaphorically! [We didn’t actually HIT the road] [or the beach.]

We set up camp on the beach! The beach was really nice and clean! A LOT of shells, but they weren’t hurting your feet every time you took a step. The sand was soft and warm, and the ocean had BIG waves! Jett and Daddy body surfed the waves on their boogie boards. I was out swimming and looking for shells with Momma. I saw quite a few dead crabs. [They were small.] I saw a fish, too! The shells were all by the shore, right where the waves broke. One carried me in and dragged me through all the shells and sand. That really hurt! My back burned from the scrape, and I ran to wash it in the water. I sat for a bit than jumped in again. Soon after we packed up and [metaphorically] hit the road again! At home we formed an assembly line to wash shells. So many!
