6/19 Minneapolis: On Saturday we woke up, ate brunch, and went biking in Minneapolis. It was a little hard parking, but we finally found a spot. We went to this guy’s old white house (historical site), saw a waterfall (Minnehaha Falls – only waterfall on the Mississippi River), and an old train station. Then we went to DQ and got ice cream. After we raced to a science museum and did the Mississippi River National Rec Area’s Visitor Center. The next day we went to a church and Snake Discovery and also went to their indoor zoo. My sister fell in love with soft shell turtles. Then we went to Freddy’s and ate dinner for Father’s Day. On the way back we saw dancing fountains and they were dancing to the song we were listening to (on the radio). Then me and my dad played frisbee at the campground which was my favorite part of the whole trip! A fun fact I learned about Minneapolis and St. Paul is that they are called the twin cities.
6/21 International Falls/Voyageur’s National Park: When we woke up my sister was 13! She got dressed, opened her gifts, and then we went to the visitor center. We all watched a video about the Voyageur’s National Park (this was my favorite part). Me and Jaycie with the help of our parents (thanks Mom and Dad) became Junior Rangers. Then we at this book place and got free books! Then we went to 2 other visitor centers that were pretty much the same. Wish we could have gone on the boat tour thingy, but it was cancelled because of the flooding. All the wildlife we saw was a turtle, bunny, birds, mosquitos (TONS!) and dragonflies. Yesterday on our way here we did end up seeing a nest with 2 bald eagles sitting in it on top of a power line. That was pretty cool.
The photo is of me and Rex, the famous alligator at Snake Discovery.
